Prior to being a play therapist I was primary school teacher for fourteen years. I was very passionate about working with children, particularly in the Early Years Foundation Stage and there I developed my understanding of the importance of play. I developed my passion to support children in using play to learn, explore, develop creative thinking and regulate emotions. I also felt driven to support children with their emotional well being which led me to completing my Play Therapy Diploma.
I am also a qualified mindfulness and meditation teacher. I am very passionate about sharing my understanding of the power of mindfulness and meditation and the benefits that these practices can bring to children. I personally believe that mindfulness and meditation can be used alongside play therapy to provide children with essential tools for supporting children's emotional and spiritual development.
